Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Globally, it is imperative to build and maintain a sound, effective and efficient transportation network to provide a smooth and comfortable connectivity and mobility for neigboring communities and peoples in developed, developing and least developed countries and regions. More importantly, sustainability and resilence is a viable way not only for realizing basic functions of transportation network, but also for establishing a long-term feasible mechanism and strategy to a permanent transportation network. Thus, it requires a high-order performance on sustainability and resilence for transport construction and maintenance to achieve a continuous and elongated improvement on service life of transportation network.

Technically, so many challenges and difficulties will be occurred and should be tackled during sustainability and resilence for transport construction and maintenance. Particularly, key issues in building and maintaining transportation network shall be properly addressed in terms of sustainability and resilence under different and volatile institutional and environmental backgrounds. In addition, different theories, cases and practices targeted to sustainable and resilent transport construction and maintenance in various countries and regions are preferred to be summarized and are applied for present and future similar projects.

Therefore, it is significant to collect, sort and share the original theories, experiences, research articles and papers, reviews, the best cases and pratices about sustainability and resilence for transport construction and maintenance from different sources in this field.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
