Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
With the rapid acceleration of urbanization and the increasing prominence of environmental issues, cities across China are transitioning towards a digital green economic development model. This transition encompasses the application of digital technologies, sustainable economic growth, environmental protection, green infrastructure and transportation, digital urban management, and social inclusivity. The goal is to enhance urban efficiency, reduce resource wastage, strike a balance between economic growth and environmental preservation, and ultimately improve residents' quality of life. While progress has been made in urban digital green economics, it is accompanied by a set of challenges. One such challenge is the digital divide, where unequal access to digital technologies can hinder certain communities from benefiting from the green economy. Additionally, the substantial financial and resource requirements for urban planning and development can impose fiscal pressure. Inadequate environmental regulations and governance can lead to ongoing environmental degradation. Therefore, continued efforts are essential to ensure the inclusivity and sustainability of digital green economic and management models.
The objectives of this topic are as follows: Firstly, we aim to explore the application of digital technologies in urban management to enhance efficiency, intelligence, and sustainability, ultimately improving residents' quality of life. Secondly, we seek to promote the development of a green economy within urban environments, reducing resource wastage, lowering emissions, and creating more economic opportunities for cities. Thirdly, we will analyze potential challenges that may arise during the development of digital green economics, such as the digital divide, fiscal pressures, and regulatory gaps, in order to identify improvements and drive sustainable urban development.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
