Dear colleagues,

Intelligent microsensors are small-scale devices that can detect, measure, fuse and analyze physical, chemical, or biological parameters from a variety of sources and then process this information to make decisions or take actions in the environment by integrating with artificial intelligence (AI). They are typically fabricated using micromachining or other microfabrication techniques with microelectronics, nanotechnology, and sensor technology and sharpened by the AI techniques, including machine learning and deep learning. Thus, intelligent microsensors are characterized as extremely small, lightweight, smart, and low-cost, making them ideal for a wide range of applications. Intelligent microsensors are widely used and recognized in a variety of fields, particularly healthcare, manufacturing, energy, and transportation. The ongoing evolving of intelligent microsensors with various AI settings, especially in the era of giant AI models, is paving the way for innovative and robust solutions that address complex and high-consequence applications while boosting industries in the smartest way. Besides, the development of microscopic optical fiber sensors further advance sensing with significant advantages such as light weight, small size, high sensitivity, anti-electromagnetic interference, easy embedding in materials, integrated sensing and transmission, etc., which can achieve high precision and distributed sensing measurement of physical quantities such as strain and temperature and has thereafter been widely deployed in civil engineering, petroleum engineering and mining engineering. By integrating optical fiber sensors with AI models will no doubt turn the whole industry upside down.

Thus, we are strongly interested in the research field of microlithography, micromachining and microfabrication of microsensors integrated with intelligent AI models, the appropriate employment of intelligent microsensors in various fields of engineering.

For this, it is important to collect the experiences and expertises of microsensors with different AI models and technologies in that have been implemented and consider their impacts. Research articles and reviews in this area of study are welcome. We look forward to receiving your contributions.
