Section Collection Information
Dear Colleagues:
Medical Imaging is a useful tool for the prediction, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and sport injuries. The shape or geometry of two-dimensional contour was traditionally employed, while a rapid three-dimensional visualization of local tissue would assist precise diagnosis and treatment, thus rehabilitating the disorders or injuries. However, segmentation of medical images may be time consuming, thus affecting the treatment in a timely manner.
Recently, the segmentation of medical images has become much quicker with auto or semi-auto algorithms under the assistance of Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches. These techniques show great potential and promise for the application in the clinical scenarios of visualizing 2D or 3D tissue geometry, such as muscle, cartilage, ligament or bone and other organs as well.
Thus, we are interested in proposing a section on collecting current research of original articles and review studies to visualize tissue geometries using ML or AI techniques.
Looking forward to your studies.
