 In the field of nanomedicine and nano delivery systems, which is a relatively new but rapidly developing area of science, materials in the nanoscale range are utilised to either serve as diagnostic tools or to deliver therapeutic agents to specific targeted sites in a controlled manner. This field of study is relatively new but is undergoing rapid development. Delivering precise medications in a site-specific and target-oriented manner is one of the many ways in which nanotechnology might improve the treatment of chronic illnesses affecting humans. In recent years, there have been a number of remarkable uses of nanomedicine (including chemotherapeutic medicines, biological agents, immunotherapeutic agents, and other such applications) in the treatment of a variety of disorders.

It has been demonstrated that nanotechnology can bridge the gap between the biological and physical sciences through the application of nanostructures and nanophases in a variety of scientific fields, particularly in nanomedicine and nano-based drug delivery systems, where such particles are of major interest. Nanomaterials, which can be defined as materials with sizes ranging from 1 to 100 nm and have an impact on the frontiers of nanomedicine including biosensors, microfluidics, drug delivery, and microarray tests, as well as tissue engineering, are examples of the types of materials that fall under this category.
