Dear colleagues,

Electrochemistry is a pivotal component in numerous scientific and technological domains that have a direct link to the sustainable advancement of humanity. The realm of sensors is multifaceted and is progressing swiftly owing to its elevated demand and continuous technological enhancements. Electrochemical sensors are a cost-effective and convenient method for detecting varying analytes, and are extensively employed in a range of industries including agriculture, food, and oil, as well as in environmental and biomedical sectors.

Although there has been sustained advancement in the field of electrochemical sensors over the past few decades, ongoing research is encountering scientific obstacles associated with the emergence of novel applications, such as wearable sensors for personal health monitoring and autonomous sensors for in situ environmental analysis. Hence, it is recommended that forthcoming investigations concentrate on enhancing the design of electrochemical sensors and biosensors to reduce the necessity for calibration and facilitate uninterrupted monitoring over extended periods.

A crucial objective for the field of electrochemical research in the future will be to establish a connection between novel electrochemical sensing ideas and practical analytical applications in the real world. The successful accomplishment of this task will facilitate diverse analytical measurement scenarios in the future, wherein electrochemical sensors can be optimally utilized.

We are interested in developing the "Electrochemical Microsensors" Section Collection by collecting original articles, reviews, mini-reviews, etc., that investigate and explore the endless world of electrochemical sensors and their applications in numerous aspects of everyday life to medical and pharmaceutical fields, agriculture, food, water, oil industries.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
