Section Collection Information

Dear Colleagues,

Since nature gives us different and various clean energy sources, renewable energies are fundamental for a sustainable future in the world. Photovoltaic technology is the symbol of a sustainable future in many countries around the globe. As a result, numerous investments have been made in research, development, demonstrators, and production lines. A solar cell generates electrical power as long as light strikes it and doesn't need to be recharged like a battery. The devices can operate continuously outdoors or in space for up to 30 years. Engineering, nanoscience, nanotechnology, and surface science have contributed to introducing new materials and customized processes for solar. Several solar energy applications were explored from the first to the third generation of photovoltaic that uses different materials and related fabrication techniques. This collection aims to push emergent photovoltaic systems and technologies as well as reinforcing the silicon role (i.e. tandem devices) by considering materials, processes, devices, and characterization techniques. Moreover, the collection plans to be a global reference for research and industrial developments photovoltaics.

We expect to receive original or review manuscripts that can be of interest and help to researchers, experts, and entrepreneurs.
