Dear Colleagues,

The fourth industrial revolution has transformed economic processes and activities into automated and data-based fragments in which information technology (IT) as well as communication technology (CT) plays vital roles. Technological infrastructure thus becomes the foundation of sustained growth and social development. First, firms’ infrastructure strategy, cyber security, network and cloud infrastructure, software applications, information management, etc., are crucial to generate viable and interactive technological infrastructure systems. Second, technological infrastructure policy (TIP) is of need to promote institutional innovation which are important supplements to private investments and can stimulate the supply of technological services. Meanwhile, since information and communication technology (ICT) is a kind of “general purpose technology”, complementary resources such as organizational structures and behaviors and human resources plays vital roles in generating synergy effects in innovation, productivity, and economic development. Finally, other social effects of technological infrastructure development such as digital divide, knowledge barriers, teleworking are equally important to explore.

Thus, we are interested in the collective subjects in the framework of technological infrastructure. Especially, we are interested in relative contributions of firms’ infrastructure strategies in technological infrastructure, cyber security issues, network and cloud computing systems, comparative effects of various TIPs across developed and developing economies, complementary resources of ICT and their synergy effects in fields including innovation, commerce and business, productivity, and economic growth. We are also interested in studies in any areas of social outcomes in the process of technological infrastructure development.

While we highlight original theoretical or empirical research articles, review studies are also acceptable. Diverse economic areas include but are not limited to macroeconomic, microeconomic, financial and social aspects with special emphasis on technological infrastructure are welcome.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
