Dear colleagues,

Cosmetics refer to daily chemical industrial products that are applied to any part of the human body surface (skin, hair, nails, lips, etc.) by rubbing, spraying or other similar methods to achieve cleaning, eliminating bad odor, skin care, beauty and modification purposes. With the development of economy, people's demand for cosmetics is gradually increasing, and the scale of cosmetics consumer market is also increasingly large. It is worth noting that the use of cosmetics is in direct contact with the application site. While exerting its efficacy, it may produce some adverse reactions, such as local irritation and local allergy, and even phototoxicity and systemic toxicity. In addition, due to the wide range of groups, including infants, children, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged people and the elderly, it is particularly important in the process of production and testing. The safety assessment of each cosmetic ingredient of any formulation is the basis of cosmetic safety assessment and is a useful scientific method to describe possible adverse effects of cosmetic use [1].The evaluation of toxicity of cosmetics is also indispensable. If you use cosmetics with high levels of acid, lead, mercury or hormones for a long time, these harmful substances to the skin and human body will accumulate to a certain extent, which will cause damage to the whole body [2]. Safety and toxicity evaluation, as an essential link in the process of ensuring that cosmetics can be used safely and reasonably, is an important means to ensure the safety of cosmetics, which is of great importance to people's health. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a systematic and scientific cosmetic safety risk assessment system.
