Dear Colleagues,

Proteins and peptides represent a captivating and ever-evolving field of study, with significant implications for a broad range of scientific disciplines in food, health and medicines. Proteins and peptides play pivotal roles in various biological processes, serving as the building blocks of life and as key players in health and disease. Articles are invited for structural characterization of proteins and peptides, showcasing advanced techniques in structural biology and shedding light on conformational dynamics and their functional relevance, application of proteins and peptides in drug development, with a focus on biopharmaceuticals, and peptide-based drugs. Also, studies that employ recent advances on method development in proteins, peptides, liquid chromatography techniques coupled with mass spectrometry. Mass spectrometric techniques including targeted and non-targeted proteins and peptide chemistry with imaging mass spectrometery (MALDI imaging and DESI) are recent thirst area in health and medicines. Apert from recent advances on analytical techniques, bioinformatics tools will be the another area to characterize and quantify proteins and peptides within complex biological systems. Current challenges in protein and peptide research and future directions, including the role of these biomolecules in gene editing, personalized medicine, and other exciting frontiers.
