The modern lifestyle of people has resulted in the development of ‘Lifestyle disorders’ that are slowly

affecting youngsters and even children, let alone adults. We all know that metabolic disorders happen

when the body's normal metabolic processes get disrupted (Endocrine Disruption) due to genetic

(congenital) or environmental (acquired) factors. A group of metabolic disorders including atherogenic

dyslipidemia, hypertension, insulin resistance, and obesity is termed ‘Metabolic syndrome’ (MetS). It

is strongly associated with an increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). MetS has

turned out to be progressively more significant in the past decades due to the exponential increase in

obesity globally. Thus, early diagnosis is essential in order to employ an effective lifestyle and

overcome risk factors.

Recently, numerous expert groups have tried to set forth simple diagnostic norms that can be used in

clinical practice to find out patients who are evident to possess the multiple components of MetS.

The present section invites research and reviews on the factors leading to the development of

metabolic disorders, how they affect the body system and its functioning, and their effects on

individual health. The research and methodologies describing the early diagnosis of metabolic

disorders are also included in this section.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
