Dear Colleagues,

Carbon materials plays an important role on biomedical analysis. The most reliable paste based carbon materials were

designed and used since a long time for biomedical analysis. Developments on the nanoscience and nanotechnology

allowed the increasing of responses of sensors, and also utilization of carbon type of nanoparticles to design of the

intellingent systems able to detect specific biomarkers and release medicine accordingly with the need.

This Topical Collection is dedicated to recent advances on: (1) design of 3D electrochemical and optical sensors

based on graphene, graphite, diamond nanoparticles for biomedical analysis; (2) design of 2D electrochemical and

optical sensors/screen printed electrodes based on graphene, graphite, diamond nanoparticles for biomedical analysis;

(3) carbon-based nanoparticles for controlled medicines released in the body. All types of research approaches are

acceptable: experimental, theoretical, numerical, analytical, computational, case studies, and combinations thereof.

The main criteria for paper acceptance is the academic excellence, the scientific soundness, as well as the originality

and novelty of applications, methods, fundamental findings or experiments.

The Topical Collection will include the following topics:

 Electrochemical sensors based on carbon types of nanoparticles for biomedical analysis;

 Optical sensors based on carbon types of nanoparticles for biomedical analysis;

 Applications of carbon-based sensors in clinical studies;

 Platforms based on carbon nanoparticles– as intelligent tools for detection of biomarkers and controlled released

of medicines.
