Section Collection Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Environmental Science and Technology major is a comprehensive discipline that involves multiple fields such as natural sciences, social sciences, and engineering technology. Against the backdrop of intensifying global change, strengthening environmental pollution control capabilities and disaster risk response capabilities is an urgent task for human society. Resources and environmental science should fully leverage its significant advantages in environmental and disaster issues to provide environmental pollution control and remediation plans, develop disaster risk warning, prevention, and emergency management models, and promote the construction of ecological civilization. The future development of Environmental Science and Technology should be based on global sustainable development goals, innovate regional sustainable development models, and provide solutions for global and regional sustainable development, promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Thus, we are interested in environmental management, evaluation, monitoring, and pollutant reduction in the field of environmental protection to address issues related to environmental protection and sustainable development.

For this, it is important to collect the experiences of different environmental factor processes and consider their impacts. Research articles and reviews in this area of study are welcome. We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Dear Colleagues,

The ongoing release of hazardous compounds (e.g., organic and inorganic pollutants, heavy metals, waste) into the air, water, or soil/sediments has harmed the environment and human health. Different approaches have been studied to cope with these issues, but novel options for conventional treatments are required.

This Section Collection encourages innovative environmental science and technology approaches, including environmental engineering, ecological technology, and global change ecology. In this Section, original research articles and reviews, case and technical reports, and short communications are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Environmental Chemistry;

- Biogeochemical Cycle;

- Occurrence, Fate, and Behavior of Atmospheric, Aquatic and Terrestrial Pollutants;

- Ecotoxicology and Public Health;

- Remediation and Biological Treatments;

- Physical-Chemical Techniques and Resource Recovery;

- Sustainable Adsorbents;

- Bioenergy and Climate Change;

- Anaerobic Digestion and Dark Fermentation;

- Industrial Ecology.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
