Section Collection Information
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the section “Production Logistics System” .
With modern society's development, the productivity requirement of industrial products has kept growing in the last decades. In addition to the capacity of production machines, the production logistic system also becomes a bottleneck in manufacturing enterprises. The production logistics system consists of internal storage, transport, and material handling processes within a manufacturing enterprise. The material movements between different enterprises are also considered if the production involves the cooperation of more than one enterprise. By managing and controlling the inventories and movements of goods within manufacturing sites, a sound production logistics system ensures the optimal flow of materials along the value-added chain, which starts with the raw material storage and ends with the production and finished product storage.
Thus, in this section collection, we are interested in subjects regarding the two main aspects of the production logistics system, namely the warehouse and internal transport, as well as other relative elements. The planning, monitoring, control, execution, and other problems of the processes in the production logistics system that can improve the system efficiency deserve thorough investigation.
For this, it is crucial to collect research on the optimization and development of production logistics systems. Research articles and reviews in this area of study are welcome.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
