Dear Colleagues,
Chemical carcinogenesis is a multifaceted process that elucidates how exposure to certain chemicals can instigate cancer development. This field of study holds paramount importance in comprehending the etiology of cancer and devising preventive and therapeutic strategies.
Carcinogens, the chemicals responsible for initiating cancer, induce DNA and cellular damage, leading to mutations that facilitate uncontrolled cell growth and division. These carcinogens can be found in various sources, including tobacco smoke, industrial chemicals, and environmental pollutants. The effects of chemical carcinogens are influenced by factors such as dosage, duration of exposure, genetic predisposition, and other environmental and lifestyle elements.
Researchers in the field of chemical carcinogenesis employ diverse techniques to investigate the mechanisms underlying carcinogenicity. This includes utilizing animal models to study the effects of specific carcinogens and employing molecular biology techniques to examine genetic alterations in cells exposed to these chemicals.
We enthusiastically welcome research articles and reviews in this field and eagerly anticipate receiving your contributions.
