Section Collection Information

Dear colleagues,

It is with great pleasure to announce the opening of the Section Collection focused on the nanotoxicity studies focused on exposure, hazards, and the following public risk of the applied nanomaterials. Nanomaterials are significant sources for the enhancement of various applications including health (nanobiotechnology, nanomedicine), food, industrial and energy uses. Being nanotechnology, a recent leading technology with rapid proliferation, the effects of nanomaterials’ exposure on the health and environmental safety should be under strict surveillance. In fact, nanotoxicity represents a big concern for environmental safety, animal, and public health. Among the possible hazards such as dust explosions, skin contact and ingestion, the inhalation exposure should have a special consideration as relevant pathologies involved in oxidative stress, inflammation, genotoxicity, and carcinogenicity have been emphasized in some reports. Nevertheless, nanomaterials can interact with respiratory microbiomes causing chronic inflammation and respiratory diseases. Experimental considerations of the toxicity of different nanomaterials can be achieved using cytotoxicity assays and “in vivo” tests.

Both research articles and systematic reviews are welcome.
